The Latest Trip ReportsPapa Joe's Baked Redfish VideoOctober 30thToday started early when Papa Joe picked up Mike Bank along with Tim, Brian, and Bill at their hotel in New Orleans at 5:15 AM. But the time these guys had with Capt. Mike and the fish they caught were worth it. The wind was blowing pretty hard and it was tough to fish, but these guys caught them. One picture is worth a thousand words, so here is their photo. Thanks guys, hope you were able to get the fish home. October 30thMike Mitchell has fished with Papa Joe four or five times in the past. When he decided to return to New Orleans after a few years he called to book a trip for him and his buddy, Steve. Even with the wind blowing, we caught our fish and the guys were very happy. Here is their photo. Thanks, Mike and Steve, it was a good time fishing with you again. Enjoy the fish. October 23rd & 24thWayne Mooney's group fished with Papa Joe and Larry Hulsey's group fished with Capt. Mike & Capt. Double D. Another cold front came through and the strong north wind tried to mess up the fishing, but the fishery was too strong and we caught fish anyway. Wayne and Larry have been coming to fish with Papa Joe for many years now, and they have seen it all. Here are a few pictures of the guys showing off some of their fish. Thanks guys, hope to see you in the spring. October 18th &19thRick Raymond and his long time school buddies had a great two-day fishing trip with Papa Joe. The first strong cold front of the year came through the night before the first day of their trip. It was cold and windy, but we made the adjustment and by 10 AM we were catching fish, On the second day we already had their number and caught two full chests of fish. October 17thLuke Iversen from Birmingham AL surprised his dad Dr Mark Iversen from Paso Robles CA, and father-in-law Mike Presley from Mobile AL, with a fishing trip with Papa Joe. Along as the Designated Driver on the trip was long-time customer and Papa Joe's good friend Jerry Burke. This was Dr. Marks first trip, and even though the weather was not the best he loved every minute of it. Here is their photo. Thanks guys, can't wait to do it again. October 16thBob Nagelhout and Dave Glenn are pictured here with a few of the fish they caught with Capt. Mike today. Papa Joe picked them up at 5:30 AM from their hotel in New Orleans and returned them after a good day of fishing. Thanks guys, it was our pleasure. We hope to see you on your next trip to New Orleans. October 13th & 14thHere is a photo of the Gobert Group. They returned to fish with Papa Joe & Capt. E.J. Let me tell you, these Shreveport guys can fish up a storm, and we had to fish around the storms for 2 days. Those redfish you see were feeding on big schools of pogies, and we caught them on spinner baits with black and chartreuse plastics. Thanks guys, E.J. and I enjoyed fishing with you and we hope to do it again in the spring. October 8thHere is a photo of (l to r) James, Kim, Hoss, and Frank showing off the big mess of fish they caught today while fishing with Papa Joe. It really was a fun trip especially since Hoss and Papa Joe have been friends for 38 years and the other guys were visiting Hoss from Florida. They kept saying you just can't catch fish like this at home. Thanks folks and enjoy the fish. October 5thKevin & Seth Reinke with Bill Freeling had a terrific time fishing with Papa Joe today. The redfish are on fire right now in Lafitte, and boy did these guys take advantage of it. Beautiful weather and light winds held up till the end of the trip although we had a little sprinkle on the way in. Here are a couple of photos of Bill and Seth, I'm not sure what happened to Kevin at picture taking time. Kevin, we will correct that next month when you return. Enjoy the fish guys. October 2ndJan and Bill Wild had a good time and a great fishing trip today with Papa Joe. This was the 2nd year they came to New Orleans and fished with us, and plan to return again next year. The weather and fishing were excellent. Here is a photo of them showing off a few of the fish they caught. Thanks folks, can't wait to do it again. I hope you enjoy the fish.
